Help & how it works

Use the language button at the top right to switch locales. The sections below match the current FIFA men’s ranking simulator UI.

The simulator header includes links to Help (this page) and Contact (Google Form).

What this site does

From the bundled ranking snapshot, you pick countries on match cards, set importance (I) and result, and see an estimate of point changes after one match or several in sequence. We do not fetch official releases or compute on a server.

Sticky bar above the match cards

  • Show all compact: switches every card to compact view at once (button highlights when on). Use each card’s to expand that card back to detailed view.
  • Results summary: opens a modal with per-match estimates and the list of teams with point changes (see below).
  • Ask AI: opens the chat on supported browsers (see below).

Ranking table (right column)

  • Search filters by country name, code, or rank number.
  • Only teams with changes: when on, only teams whose points moved in the current simulation stay visible. Turn it off to show the full filtered list again.
  • The Pts column shows points after all cards, with the total delta in parentheses (coloured) when non-zero.
  • RK is the simulated order. If it differs from the snapshot rank, the original rank appears in parentheses next to it.
  • For the match card you’re working on, selected teams get A / B badges (and row background tint).
  • Pick countries via the Team A / Team B modals on the card—not by clicking ranking rows (see the hint under the table).

One match card

  • Team A / Team B: tap a panel to open the country list modal. Points shown are pre-match for that card (after previous cards in the stack).
  • Match importance I: choose from the dropdown (friendlies, NL, qualifiers, finals, etc.—each maps to a number).
  • Result (from Team A’s view): win (90 min / ET), loss, draw, win on penalties, loss on penalties. Regulation and PK outcomes are treated differently in the formula.
  • Knockout (floor negatives at 0): for continental or World Cup knockout-style handling, the losing side’s drop is floored at 0.
  • Add cards with Add match card or Insert card here (shown when hovering between cards). Cards apply top to bottom.
  • Point change after match (estimate): per-team delta with breakdown (W, We, I×(W−We)). Detailed view also shows a short formula footnote.

Compact view (∧ / ∨)

  • = detailed layout, = compact. You can mix compact and detailed across cards.
  • In compact mode, importance and result open small modals; A/B panels still open the country picker.

Results summary (modal)

  • Left: each ready match with countries, deltas, outcome in the centre (PK badge for shootouts; regulation wins note (90 min / incl. extra time)). Importance appears in a small two-line box.
  • Right: teams with point changes, sorted by |delta|. Each row: points after simulation and (delta) on one line, spaced to the edges.
  • Save image / Share on X: export the summary; for X, attach the saved image as prompted.

Totals across several cards

The ranking table’s points, deltas, and ranks reflect all cards combined. Per-country totals are also listed in the Results summary modal (right column).

Ask AI (supported browsers only)

Where Prompt API (on-device) is available (e.g. Chrome), open chat from the sticky bar. Prompts stay on your devicenot sent to this site’s servers. First run may download the model.

The assistant can read your simulation. If you ask it to change settings, it may adjust teams, importance, result, compact flags, etc. Countries are resolved by 3-letter codes (e.g. Japan JPN, Netherlands NED).

Treat AI output as guidance; trust the numbers on the cards, ranking table, and results summary first.

Data and official rankings

Rankings are a bundled snapshot. Publication date (UTC) in the header matches that snapshot. Always confirm the latest official points and ranks with FIFA or your MA.
